Literature Text

I am not who I once was.
Battered and beaten but not out,
losing sight is nothing too bad.
I can still feel the power
of my muscles
writhing like worms underground.
I seek to spring forward once more,
and grip flesh between my teeth
draining all life
to devour on my own.
I don't want your help.
Why can't you see?
If you left me alone,
never crossed me,
we would be fine,
and I'd still have my eyes.
A short free verse poem that I wrote based off of my photo: Up Close and Personal
I often write poetry based on the feelings I get from the photo, or how I felt when I took it. If you are interested in me writing a poem based off of your photo or art, let me know!
